Tiklas Falls is one of the best spots you shouldn't skip when you go to Misamis Oriental. The waterfall is located in Barangay Lawit, Gingoog City.
The location of the falls was developed by the city government into an Eco-Tourism Park. The park is well-managed by the local government. The road from entrance going to the resort park is paved, garbage free and sides were planted with different ornamental and non-ornamental flora. Fronting the falls is a public swimming pool and cottages- yes an Eco park! There is a concrete bridge going to the park where you can see the perfect drop of the waterfalls and take photographs. I personally commend the city government and the people of Gingooog City for developing and of course preserving this interesting tourism spot.
Cool winds and beautiful nature welcomed us as we are approaching. There are no food stalls or sari – sari stores in the area so you must bring packed foods and drinks. There are cottages for rent- 100-200 pesos only.
TRIVIA| Gingoogis also known as the City of Goodluck. East of Cagayan de Oro and West of Butuan City, the city's name comes from the Manobo word "Hingoog", which means “Goodluck”. Manobo are the original settlers of the city.
