Early today, I had the chance to witness and join this year's celebration of Lanzones Festival, an annual thanksgiving on bountiful harvest of lanzones here in Camiguin Island, the country's second smallest province.
Camiguin is an island province of Mindanao also known as the Island Born of Fire because of its unique feature of having several active volcanoes. The province was also tagged as the Lanzones Capital of the Philippines with its pride of having the sweetest variety of lanzones in the country.

Highlights of the celebration are: the street dancing competition from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, from of Old Parola wharf in (Mambajao) going to Poblacion Barangay Hall; and the showdown of the of the contingents at the Provincial Stadium in the afternoon.
The colors, the smiles, the beat, the dance, the sweet fruit of Lanzones! We beat the heat of the sun to bring you these captured moments during 2014 Lanzones Festival of Camiguin.
